Hessenpark Open-Air Museum
That the environment in which you live has more to offer than seems apparent at first glance is not a bland slogan that you often hear from your grandparents. Once again, the sunny weather drew us out for a little trip around our homeland. Namely to Neu-Anspach in Hesse, which is located just under half an hour north of Frankfurt am Main.
The open-air museum Hessenpark can be visited near Neu-Anspach in Hesse. As soon as you leave the entrance area, you lose the typical museum feeling and the impression of being in the middle of a village sneaks in. And that is exactly what the open-air museum is. The representation of the Hessian village life in the past centuries. Let’s go and see what the historical Hesse had to offer.
Immerse yourself in the past
The tour starts at the market square. On the approximately 2.5 km long circular route, the various corners of Hesse can be visited in the form of so-called building groups. Some houses can also be visited from the inside. Along the route there are several opportunities to stop for a picnic, discover the past, find out what workshops looked like back then, and meet animals. A forest adventure trail and a geological nature trail can also be explored. Towards the end of the tour there is also a fitness trail.
The tour ends again on the market square. Here you will find a few stores, a hotel, a restaurant and a bakery. The smell of freshly baked bread clearly leads the way here. The cake is also highly recommended. This is how a Sunday can be spent, isn’t it!
