Example for Bachelorette Party

A Hiking Tour in the Nahe Valley

If you hear Bachelorette Party it usually makes you think about pink tutus, cheesy toy-crowns and the selling of bathroom utensils to blameless citizens in the pedestrian area. Totally different should we farewell our bride-to-be before she runs, or hikes, into the harbor of marriage.

Absolutely unaware of the fact that something could happen that weekend the bride was hijacked. The future husband was informed and cooperating extremely well in the underground. He packed her luggage for the weekend with everything she needed – without her even noticing. Respect.

The bride-to-be was taken to our meeting point and we started from there immediately. The drive took us towards the airport Frankfurt Hahn that perfectly sent the bride on the wrong track. The woman-of-the-day was irritated in the morning at first because everyone was dressed a little bit sportive and she was not (yet) but the drive towards the airport made her forget about that fact.

We did not drive to the airport of course. That would have been uninspired. We passed Bad Kreuznach and drove right into the wine region Nahe. The sportive bride likes to spend time outdoors and she is also a wine-connoisseur. That is why the plan for the day was a hike in the wine region. The Nahe Valley offers numerous interesting and beautiful hiking trails that are well signposted. We decided to take the “Skywalk-Vitaltour Wildgrafenweg”. This trail is approximately 14 kilometers long and takes you over the heights of the Hunsrück. After about an hour of walking we reached “Schloss Dhaun”, a medieval castle where we decided to enjoy the amazing view and the even better weather. It was also the perfect location to open up the first one or two bottles of champagne that we brought. In front of this beautiful scenery we clinked glasses “To the Bride” and started a little picnic in the sun.

Fields and Grasslands

Well strengthened we preceded our hike. We walked through a little town and then up a steep hill. The climb took about 15 minutes. At the top we reached a high plateau and walked through fields and meadow, passed some sheep and some locals that recommended other trails to us and had some time to talk apart from the usually stressful everyday life. When we reached a big area of grassland on a shallow hill we decided to stop for a second break. We set up the picnic-quarter, had some more champagne, ate the little goodies everyone brought in their backpacks, talked, laughed and also enjoyed the peaceful silence that almost grew alien to us in our everyday lives. It was still April and therefore it became a little chilly and the ground was a little damp, so we started our last section of the tour.

After about 6 hours of hiking we arrived at the highlight of the tour – the Skywalk. The Skywalk is a platform at the edge of a quarry from where you have a great view over the Nahe Valley. We took a few photos and then followed the signs of the trail to the parking lot.

It was time to go to Weiler. To be more specific we went to the Schmidtburger Hof. This wine-restaurant also has rooms for rent and was therefore the perfect location for the evening. We were welcomed very warmly by the owners and could directly check-in to our rooms to freshen up after the hike.

For the evening we had pre-booked a 4-course menu with complementary wines. A daughter of the house elucidated and introduced every wine in a very entertaining and charming manner. The wines fit the outstanding dishes perfectly. For the culmination of the dinner we went to the romantic and candle lit vault cellar where we were served a glass of Secco. After the Secco we sat in the beautiful restaurant of Schmidtburger Hof for a little while before we went to bed.

The next morning, we had a good breakfast before we headed back home to drop off the bride again.

It was a very relaxed and uncomplicated girls-weekend as well as bachelorette party that was a little different from what you expect, but therefore it was all the nicer and unusual. A weekend to remember. Read here how guys do a bachelor party.
